The Partnership

RLAF, a non-profit organisation serving Singapore's Muslim community, wanted to bring cyber wellness education to students in local madrasas as part of a broader digital transformation initiative. But rather than relying on external trainers for ongoing delivery, they sought a model that would build internal capacity, equipping their own volunteers to deliver the programme sustainably over time.

We partnered with RLAF to make this happen, combining our curriculum and pedagogical expertise with their deep community networks and volunteer base.

A Model Built for Sustainability

The partnership centred on our Cyber Wellness Ambassador Programme, a structured curriculum for primary and secondary students covering the fundamentals of online safety. But the programme's design goes beyond student content: it's built to create peer leaders who can support their communities, and to transfer delivery capability to local organisations.

Certification for Credibility

We delivered specialist workshops for RLAF's volunteers and facilitators, transferring both domain knowledge and facilitation skills. The sessions weren't just about understanding cyber safety content; they focused on how to communicate these concepts effectively to young people, how to handle questions, and how to adapt delivery to different age groups.

Participants who completed the training received certification as qualified facilitators. This gave RLAF's volunteers formal recognition of their capability, ensuring consistency and quality as they rolled the programme out across multiple madrasas.

Resources for Independent Delivery

RLAF received the full programme package: lesson slides, classroom activities, and training materials for both primary and secondary levels. With certified facilitators and comprehensive resources in hand, they could deliver the programme independently without ongoing reliance on external trainers.

Why This Model Works

Many organisations want to bring cyber safety education to their communities but lack the expertise to develop or deliver it themselves. This partnership demonstrates an alternative to the traditional workshop model: rather than delivering sessions directly, we built RLAF's internal capacity to own and sustain the programme long-term.

For community organisations with strong volunteer networks but limited specialist knowledge, this train-the-trainer approach creates lasting impact beyond any single engagement.
