How to be a Trusted Adult in Cyberbullying Cases
When cyberbullying happens, students often suffer in silence — not because they don't want help, but because they don't know which adults they can trust. As an educator, you are in the unique position to be a safe person students turn to when their digital world becomes overwhelming or dangerous.
This 30-minute session focuses on building the relationships and creating the environment that encourages students to speak up when they witness or experience cyberbullying.
What We’ll Cover:
What’s changing: The evolving nature of bullying in digital spaces
Understanding how cyberbullying manifests and its difference to real world
Respond to cyberbullying disclosures in ways that encourage continued openness
Building a culture of reporting without retaliation
Work effectively with parents on cyberbullying responses
How to implement a transparent reporting system for students and teachers
